If you could remember what you carried to school, what would you mention? We had books, pens, pencils, writing pads, erasers, tiffin boxes, and more. Today if we look at the little ones in our family, we are so eager to let them have the same joy.

But what about those who only dream of this? It’s heartbreaking to think about how a simple pen or notebook can unlock a world of possibilities for those who are fortunate enough to have them. If we take a quick scan through our natural lenses, it’s not so difficult to spot many kids who only hope that one day they go to school with all the materials that we easily own today.

Life is unfair to many, especially the kids who wish to learn, that one little girl who tells her mother each night that her dream is to become a doctor. But everything starts with getting educated, and the pathway to that is going to school. But it’s not just going to school; it’s also having adequate school supplies. How long will these children, who cannot afford the pricey school supplies but aspire to change their lives, struggle with their dreams and study using borrowed books, used calendars for their blank spaces, and thrown-away tiny pencils and pens left with little ink? By providing access to proper school supplies and resources, we can empower these children to pursue their dreams and ultimately transform their futures.

Children’s Heart Foundation believes that the scenario can change and each child can have their own school supplies, which helps them sketch their dreams to come true. The NGO donates ‘school kits.’ These kits include books and basic stationery. If you read through our informational website, we have previously donated such school kits to around 500 students at a Zilla Parishad School. Every time a child owns a school kit, one life is changed. The child who could only look at others going to school with lovely bags full of stationeries now has a handful of his own. So the dreams that were in his eyes can now be painted to reality. School kits let them continue their journey of learning despite the odds of weather, be it summer or rain, as their school bags shield their books, which carry their dreams.
